SSP Jammu Reviews Crime Situation, Directs Officers to Strengthen Preventive and People-Centric Policing
Jammu, September 5, 2026: SSP Jammu Joginder Singh chaired a comprehensive Crime Review Meeting at District Police Lines
A comprehensive Crime Review Meeting was held at District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu on September 5, 2026, under the chairmanship of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Singh. The meeting focused on reviewing the prevailing crime situation in Jammu district and assessing the progress made in investigations and preventive policing.
The meeting was attended by senior police officers, including Zonal SPs, SDPOs and other concerned officials. During the review, the SSP examined the status of registered criminal cases, pending investigations, detection of unsolved cases and the overall conviction rate. Progress in important and sensitive cases was also discussed in detail.
SSP Jammu directed all officers to maintain professionalism, accountability and close supervision of investigations. He emphasized that cases should be investigated thoroughly and within the prescribed timelines to ensure effective delivery of justice.
The SSP also stressed the need to strengthen preventive policing and take firm action against habitual and repeat offenders. Special focus was placed on tackling drug trafficking, illegal activities and organised crime.
Officers were further directed to strengthen police-public interaction, beat policing and field-level intelligence. The SSP emphasized prompt response to public grievances and maintaining a visible police presence across Jammu district.
The meeting concluded with directions to all officers to remain vigilant and work towards improving policing outcomes while ensuring transparent, effective and people-centric policing.
