Census-2027 Phase II Training Begins Across Kishtwar for 700+ Enumerators & Supervisors

Training for Enumerators and Supervisors for the second phase of Census-2027 has commenced across District Kishtwar, marking an important step towards ensuring smooth, accurate and timely completion of the Population Enumeration exercise. The programme is being conducted under the directions of Principal Census Officer and Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS).

The training is being organised simultaneously at three major locations—DIET Kishtwar and the Sub-Divisional Headquarters at Chatroo and Dachhan. The arrangement has been made keeping in view the vast geographical spread, difficult terrain and accessibility challenges of the district. More than 700 Enumerators and Supervisors are being trained in different batches.

At DIET Kishtwar, the training programme was formally inaugurated by Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Vinod Kumar Behal (JKAS), in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pawan Kotwal (JKAS), DSEO Kishtwar Suresh Sharma, Principal DIET Kishtwar Tirath Lal and other concerned officers and trainers.

The sessions are focused on familiarising field functionaries with Census procedures, field methodology, digital tools, data collection protocols and other responsibilities associated with Population Enumeration. Special emphasis is being laid on accuracy, verification, confidentiality and adherence to the prescribed schedule.

Addressing the trainees, the ADDC highlighted that Enumerators and Supervisors are the backbone of the Census operation. He urged them to participate actively in practical sessions, clarify doubts and understand the prescribed procedures thoroughly before commencing field duties.

The district administration has put in place a comprehensive training mechanism to ensure that all field functionaries are adequately prepared. Officials expressed confidence that coordinated efforts by Enumerators, Supervisors, Field Trainers, Charge Officers and other stakeholders will help ensure the successful and efficient completion of Census-2027 in Kishtwar.
