Residents of Bakshi Nagar have welcomed the proposed flyover construction in the area, expressing hope that the project will provide a long-term solution to the traffic congestion faced by commuters and local residents. According to residents, traffic movement in the area often becomes difficult, particularly during busy hours, leading to delays and inconvenience for motorists as well as pedestrians.
While many residents have supported the proposed development, concerns have also been raised by shopkeepers whose businesses and properties may be affected by the construction work. The affected traders say that any development project should take into consideration the financial losses that local business owners may face during and after the construction.
Shopkeepers have urged the concerned authorities to hold proper consultations with those likely to be affected and ensure that adequate compensation is provided for the loss of businesses, commercial activity and property. They have also appealed to the administration to clearly explain the proposed construction plan, including the areas likely to be affected and the rehabilitation or compensation measures being considered.
The shopkeepers stressed that they are not against development and understand the need for better traffic infrastructure. However, they want the authorities to ensure that their livelihoods are protected while carrying out the project.
Residents and traders are now looking towards the administration for a balanced approach that can improve traffic management while addressing the genuine concerns of affected shopkeepers.
