Jammu State Movement Holds Peaceful Rally From Jaggi Darbar To Janipur, Demands Separate State Status

A peaceful foot march was organised by the Jammu State Movement from Jaggi Darbar to Janipur in Jammu on September 7, 2026, with participants raising the demand for separate statehood for the Jammu region.
The rally was organised to draw attention to issues related to Jammu’s political representation, regional identity, development and rights. Organisers maintained that the demand should be pursued through peaceful and democratic means.
Arjun Singh, President of the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena and Convenor of the Jammu State Movement, addressed participants during the programme. He stated that people in Jammu have been raising concerns about regional issues for several decades and argued that Jammu has its own historical identity, culture, social structure and development requirements. He appealed to the Central Government to consider the demand for a separate Jammu state, referring to the reorganisation of the former state and the creation of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
The march was attended by several representatives and supporters of the Jammu State Movement, Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena and Movement Kalki. Senior Vice President Mangal Singh, Monu Baba, Organisation Secretary Naresh Singh, Jammu District President Jangveer Singh, Secretary Deep Kumar Sharma and former Sarpanch Rajdev Singh were among those present.
From Movement Kalki, Founder and Convenor Deepak Singh, General Secretary (Protests and Programmes) Vikram Mahajan, Secretary Rajdev Singh, Advisor Pritam Sharma, Secretary and Treasurer Raj Kumar, and Convenor of the Environment Cell Anil Arora also participated.
The Jammu State Movement said its peaceful and democratic campaign would continue, with separate statehood for Jammu remaining its principal demand.
